Jessie Jayne I have been hooked since the first time I heard Asleep next to Science. My brother recommended I check them out knowing that I would probably like the album. I can say that I didn't like it, I fucking lived it. I thought all 9 songs were perfect and Sayer of the law .... track 1 caught my attention immediately, reading the lyrics made me love the band even more, lyrics are very important to me, maybe because I write words and I do not know how to write music, anyhow, they were more then unique, they were brilliant, and unlike anything else I had heard before. I have been looking for something else by the band for years, I was definitely under the impression that I wouldn't hear anything else because it seemed as though this unbelievably band just disappeared.

I can say finding this album although I wish there were more was obviously was very exciting for me. I love both tracks as I love the whole album before. they have 11 songs I know of, and every one is fantastic, I really hope to hear a full length album soon... I would say on a scale from one to ten this is a ten as is their first. I'm surprised that few know about them, they may be too evolved for the masses .

I am psyched that they are not done, it would be tragic as far as art goes.

xoxo

Eli Orbs' Asleep Next to Science remains one of my favorite albums of all time - excellent musicianship from everyone involved in the project. I'm patiently awaiting the next full length album, but this EP has done an excellent job of holding me over until then. Favorite track: Picked Apart By Time.
Matthew Blanchard

Matthew Blanchard ORBS make some of the best progressive rock around, but with Dan Briggs and Adam Fisher working together that was obviously going to happen. Favorite track: These People Are Animals.

These people are animals! Every bit of skin doesn't mean a thing, we're all dogs! Still, I'm wanting to feel like I'm not one of them. I'm just wanting to peel it off. I confess I would love to see you naked. I'd release you into the wild and watch you run on all four limbs. And to I, the detailed contours of your face make it evident that there is bone behind your skin. Once undressed I would show the world your shame. The animal I always knew you were now on display for all the world! And aghast! The bone that held up your self image is not homo sapien, it's of an indecipherable origin. Oh creator, what is this? Mother, father, what the hell is going on? Evolution and progress occur slowly over time leaving trace amounts of evidence. I digress, the point of stripping you in public is not to embarrass, but to enlighten and educate. And though a mess, you'd sob at first and be quite frightened, eventually you'd find balance, you'd find pleasure in your primal state. Oh innovator, what are we? Brother, sister, where the hell do I belong? "Evolution? Bull shit! I assure you we've been like this all along!" Little believer, no fits! Pastor, priest, allow us join you in a song: "I am no monkey sir!" We wanted to be just like Him. We wanted to be men. We wanted to be infallible. We just wanted a sure thing. We wanted to be invincible. We wanted to be colossal. We wanted to rewrite history. We wanted to grow and thrive. These people are animals! Every bit of skin doesn't mean a thing, we're all dogs! These people are animals! Every bit of skin doesn't mean a thing, we're all fucked! Still, I'm wanting to feel like I'm not one of them, wanting to feel at all... Oh creator, what a mess! Mother, father, what the hell is going on? Evolution, unless you count the fanatics who try and burn the evidence. Little believer. Large head filled with thoughts about sex and where it fits. Give me a small town with no leash laws or petty thinkers. My girl, she wants to let her insides out. These people are animals! Every bit of skin doesn't mean a thing, we're all dogs! If you want it then it's probably wrong. If you have it then it's probably not enough. These people are animals! Every bit of skin doesn't mean a thing, we're all fucked! If you want it then it's probably wrong. If you have it then it's probably not enough. Still, I'm wanting to feel like I'm not one of them, wanting to feel at all...

I am a modern man. I exceed expectation, I give a good God damn! I am an honest man. I love my wife and children, I love my nine to five. I am not losing it… I thrive in knowing that I can always be replaced. My suit it barely fits! I've swelled and sweated through it, that sweet smell of success! You were in pieces on the side of the road. I stopped to put you back together, I collected all your bones and all the muscle not picked apart by vultures. You are the added weight I carry on my back. Your blood pulled down by gravity and pooling in my pack. The pool has sprung a leak and bonded with my sweat. You are a sticky mass decaying in the heat. I'd like to stop and let time run its course and let the insects eat. But I am older now and have no where to be. Given purpose I could flourish once again. Alas I cannot seem to put you back together or in place. I am not the man I thought I'd grow to be! Disappointed. Disappointment.
